Scanner
A scanner is a optional input devices. The function of a scanner is similar to that of a photocopier. It is used to insert text and pictures directly into the computer. It is a device by which the image of the paper itself is taken on the computer.
It uses light as an input to convert the image into electronic form and then sends the image to the computer after converting it into digital form. Scanner can be used to store a document in its original form, so that some changes can be made in it easily.
If you want to save any hard copy of picture, photo, text or any type of document or file in computer, then for this you have to take help of scanner. Because if we have to use any document from the computer, then we take out its hard copy or print. But if you want to save the hard copy photo in computer then you will need a scanner. With the help of which we can save any document by scanning exactly the same. The way in which we use the printer to take out the print. With which we remove black & white or colorful print. In the same way, with the help of scanner, we can very easily scan any black & white and colorful document and save it in our computer.

Flatbed Scanner:
This scanner is the most commonly used scanner. It is also called desktop scanner. Flatbed scanner brings the entire page to the computer in one go. Flatbed scanners are larger in size and more expensive than handheld scanners. The user can move, correct and to some extent modify the images scanned by the computer.
Sheet Fad Scanner:
Sheet fed Scanner is a compact sheet-fed scanner.This scanner can scan only one sheet of paper at a time. These scanners are more time consuming to output.
Hand Held Scanner:
A handheld scanner is a small scanner. And it can be held in one hand. This scanner is used to bring the goods printed on the paper to the computer. It is used only when small photographs, signatures or people are to be copied. When entering any document in this scanner, it does not pull the document itself, so the belt is not used in it, then you have to support yourself. But one of its benefits is that this scanner scans any document very clearly.
Drum Scanner:
Most of the publishing companies use Drum scanner. The advantage of this scanner is that even the smallest detail of any image is seen in an attractive way, which means it is visible very clearly. That's why this scanner is being used a lot these days.
There are many types of scanners available nowadays, whose resolution starts from 300 dpi (dots per inches). Here resolution refers to the clarity of the image that is scanned. The number of points of the picture present in the unit area is called the resolution. The unit to measure it is dpi (dots per inches). The higher the resolution of the scanner, the clearer the picture will be.
