What is CD Drive? Explain

        WHAT IS CD DRIVE ?

CD DRIVE

Data is read and written from CD through

CD driveCD drive is in the form of an

iron box in which CD is inserted for

reading or writing.  Burned A Gas and

unburned areas are used to write data to

the CDR.  In this, the non-lit area

represents 1 and the burned area

 represents 0.  In CD, wherever

zero is to be written, a small black spot is

made by burning the color of its surface by

putting a three beam of laser beam, it is

called burn area Where - where 1 is to be

written on CD - R, there - nothing is done

by the laser emitting device.  Hence the

unburned surface is treated as 1.  A light

sensor is placed adjacent to the laser

emitting device, whose function is to

convert the light that strikes the CD back

into electricity.  When data is being read

from CD, CD starts rotating by a motor.

After this a laser is put on it by the laser

emitting device.  If there is an unburned

area in front of the laser emitting device, it

will reflect the laser.  This reflected light is

captured by the light sensor.  The

electricity generated from this is sent to the

CPU, which the computer treats as a (1).

Conversely, when there is a burned area in

front of the laser emitting device, it does

not reflect the incoming laser in the

opposite direction, so the laser light does

not reach the sensor and it does not

generate electricity.  Is .  In this case the

computer considers it as zero 0.  In this

way the computer receives data in the

form of one (1) and zero ( 0 ).  Other types

of CDs also work on the same principle as

 CD-R.
